Travel photography is about conveying through images an area’s landscape, people, cultures, customs, architecture and history.

The Photographic Society of America defines a travel photo as an image that expresses the feeling of a time and place, portrays a land, its people & places in a natural state. It’s also about our own travels, what we see, feel and learn when we visit someplace new, even if it’s just 100 miles away.

A good travel photograph should give the viewer a sense of time and place. A great travel photograph should take the viewer right to that time and place.
